In this 2003 paperback, Childress takes us into the fascinating world of maverick sea captains who were Knights Templar and later Scottish Rite Free Masons who battled the Vatican and the Spanish and Italian ships that sailed for the Pope.
It also contains a short discussion about, and small reprints of, old 15th and 16th century maps created by the then latest cartography.
The suggestion that Columbus used much the same style of cartography to found a Templar haven in the New World seems to stretch truth a little far though. If you like conspiracy theories you’ll love this book.
